Johnson Brothers
the land of the giant pumpkin

This place has been a tradition of ours since the kids were just little babies. They have jumpers, huge pumpkins, a hay tunnel, and are open at night! This is also where we get our Christmas tree each year!

Tanaka Farms

This place is amazing and has changed so much since my kids were babies. It used to be a small mom and pop set up on their small lot and is now a beautifully sprawling pumpkin patch with a ton of activities. They have a petting zoo, tractor rides, a delicious farmers market with fresh produce picked from the farm, and fresh baked goods. Plus you get to pick your own pumpkin, which is the best part! In the off season, this place is fun for strawberry picking!

Mr. Bones

With the house made out of pumpkins, the jumpers, face paint and yummy food trucks if you haven’t been definitely check it out! The VIP tented section is a nice touch!

Environmental Nature Center

We come here in all seasons but we especially love it during the fall. They have their annual fall fair with petting zoo, pony rides, games, pumpkin patch, arts + crafts and more. But even after the fair it’s still one of our favorites. With a creek, red wood forest, teepee, butterfly farm, and learning discovery inside with snakes, the kids imaginations run wild. Check out their site for upcoming activities and camps.

Apple Picking
Oak Glen

This is such a great family afternoon! Head to Riley’s to make some memories picking apples, making your own apple cider [a must!], candle making, bird house painting, and more! Next, head down the road to Riley’s log cabin for some music and make sure to buy an apply pie. You can also have lunch there. If you do eat there make sure to get there early as the line ends up wrapping around the building come late afternoon!

*Tip: Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to enjoy the beautiful scenery! They have a small snack bar with hot dogs, chips & a couple sandwiches.

Irvine Great Park

My favorite! With the gorgeous huge sycamore trees and the decorations it always feels like fall here- even if the SoCal weather is hot!! There are so many fun activities here! Tractor races, face paint, horse + pony rides, balloon making, hay maze, train ride + haunted house. They even have a giant pumpkin competition!

*Tip: Bring a picnic lunch.
